One Story - Told Right Can Save a Life.
This Is What Humanity Sounds Like.…
Everyone has a story. We help them tell it—before it disappears. Welcome to Field Notes from Earth—a cinematic documentary series capturing real people, raw interviews, and timeless portraits.
Field Notes from Earth is about capturing powerful, real-life stories from people who’ve been through something and came out with wisdom worth sharing. Because around here, we believe sharing raw, honest stories is how we help others grow, heal, and realize they’re not the only ones going through adversity.
This project was born from a moment of unexpected clarity. After years of pain and chaos, I felt a stillness. A pause long enough to remember who I really was. That brief silence lit a spark to want to change my life. My healing journey was a reminder of how powerful a single story can be.
Now, Field Notes from Earth exists to preserve those stories, the real ones. The ones that remind us we’re not alone. We believe that sharing authentic human experiences creates a ripple effect of empathy, connection, and healing.
Field Notes from Earth is a visual offering, an elite field guide for transformation curated and designed to move people to change. This is a storytelling project with global reach, capturing the elusive moments of resilience, the ache for the spark of love, the split-second decisions, the lightning waiting to be harnessed in a bottle. Because transformation leaves a trail and sometimes it ain’t pretty.
Mine sure wasn’t. In the absence of light, a filmmaker is impotent. Useless. Inept. But this project is living proof that even the darkest chapters can spark something beautiful. If you have a story or know someone who does - pull up a chair. We’re listening.
This Isn’t Just Storytelling. It’s Human Preservation.
What is Field Notes from Earth?
Field Notes from Earth is a cinematic, emotionally rich storytelling project dedicated to preserving the depth, complexity, and beauty of real human lives. It’s not a recovery platform. It’s not therapy. It’s a record of transformation in all its forms.
This is about creating sacred space for stories that often go unheard: the moments that define us, the lessons we've earned, the quiet victories no one sees.
We document amazing stories of fighting adversity as well as the overlooked moments that shape a life: the resilience of a 37-year teaching career, the woman who held an entire family together without applause, the artist who never stopped creating, the couple who chose love through loss, and the veteran who discovered peace long after the war. These are just a few of the deeply human stories we preserve.
These stories are the threads of the human fabric. Too precious to be lost. Too powerful to remain untold.
Field Notes operates on two levels:
Documentary Series – For the world to witness.
Legacy Videos – Intimate, cinematic portraits for families to preserve forever.
Each story is shot on location in a space that feels true to the person we’re honoring—whether that’s outdoors in nature’s embrace or inside a home full of memory. Every session includes an hour-long conversation, followed by a crafted portrait taken only after we understand who someone really is.
These aren’t headshots. These are visual testaments. Captured when the light feels right—when the wind shifts, when the sun breaks through, or when the shadows settle in just the right way.
What we create is cinematic. Honest. A real legacy, preserved.
Why Your Story Matters Now
In a world drowning in AI-generated content and synthetic stories, Field Notes from Earth is the antidote.
This isn't just storytelling—it's human preservation. It’s the deliberate act of recording real voices, real faces, and real change before they’re lost or replaced by something that never lived.
AI can fake a smile. But it can’t document the second someone decides to change. It can’t feel the way hope looks in someone’s eyes. It cannot replicate the texture of real human resilience.
“Because one story, told right can save a life”
About Anthony Gainer
Anthony Gainer is an award-winning director, cinematographer, and visual storyteller with over 20 years of experience capturing emotion through powerful visuals. He’s led major campaigns for multi million dollar companies as well as shot for Disney, ABC, NBC, and FOX, known for his artistic eye and ability to move audiences with honest, human-centered work.
But at the height of his career, everything stopped. A neurological disorder, followed by addiction and depression, brought life—and creativity—to a standstill. It was in that darkness that he found a moment of clarity that changed everything. From that spark, Field Notes from Earth was born.
Driven by deep compassion and empathy, Gainer now dedicates his life to preserving real stories—moments of resilience, love, and transformation—before they disappear. He lives and works on the Oregon Coast, chasing light not to control it, but to honor it.
